For other people we remind them to confirm they have the product key somewhere. No there is nothing special you have to do before you uninstall Office 2010 (and earlier) since you have the original package. Or if it was not removed but the hard drive crashed. I just not sure how Microsoft would know if it was still installed

Is there something I am supposed to do to before I remove the software? I remember some software you had to do something special so it knew the program was removed before it could be reinstalled.

Now I know I am supposed to remove the install from the old computer. So I guess I will just do a new install instead of moving when the new computer arrives. I just found the CD still in the plastic box with the Product Key.
